With emotive compositions, based on a foundation of light, HAROB's paintings represent a realization, a truth, in varying degrees of simultaneous, reflective awareness and consciousness. Each painting embodies both light and shadows concurrently held within, and within reach, expressed as a way to reach understanding. With an innate and innocent motivation, HAROB's paintings come from a true place, sometimes a very dark place, yet through texture and colour, and an intentional lack of definable shapes, they represent something tremendously tangible, that is revealed amid a palatable and abstract behaviour when they reach the canvas. Most curious is that through these compositions of emotion, and what is 'not actually there', HAROB's pieces are as real and touchable as that in front of you.
In her own words…
My abstract approach to painting is just a way for me to communicate personal experiences and opinions without judgment. Each painting represents a different connection with someone, or something, and the pinnacle moment of truth that sheltered and committed, the experience to my memory. For me, it is about accessing these moments, and flashes, of pure simple truth and giving voice to these connections. Like a hot rock after the sun has set. Like a chilling castle floor in the dead of winter. Like Love that gives. Like Love that takes. We all have delicate stories of both profound sadness and beauty. I choose to paint mine. That said, when painting, I am not always certain where I am starting from, but I do always know the exact moment I am to finish; the moment in which realization has been met; the moment in which there is not more for me to give; the moment in which my painting and I have finished our journey together. And the moment yours may begin.
